Medical Inventions The Basics, The New, and The Exciting

Medical Inventions, what do you do if you have new inventions in regards to medicine or the medical field. Where to go first with your medical invention ideas.

The “Pain-Free Socket” was invented as one of, then, Katherine Bomkamp’s Science Fair Ideas and has now evolved into a full blown business. At 16, Bomkamp frequently visited veterans at the Walter Reed Army Hospital in Maryland to meet and visit with a lot of vets from Iraq and Afghanastan who frequently complained of phantom limb pain. Something amputees know a lot about.

Since then, three years later, her Pain Free Socket which is based on heat and thermal based biofeedback implanted in a prosthetic device, has a patent and has caught the attention of a large prosthetics company. Hear Katherine Bomkamp speak about her invention

Medical inventions for the skin: should I get a patent or just get a patent attorney first?

I have Rosacea and have for years. I’ve been prescribed medicine after medicine and nothing has worked for me longer than a couple of weeks. However, through years of experimenting, I’ve come up with a salve that not only worked for me, but for my sister as well. What do people do with medical inventions? Do they get a patent or make contact with the FDA first?

Hello Robert. First, let me say I know very little in the way of medical inventions and what road to follow. However, maybe this might help!

If it were me, I would not contact the FDA first, I would contact a patent agent. Not a patent attorney, at least not yet.

I would assume you are not going to try to market this yourself even if it’s an over the counter (which I’m assuming it is otherwise you’d have needed to mix up prescription drugs).Abby

Does a doctor or a pharmacist think up medical inventions?

Scientists typically do, but not always.

The Scientist may very well be a Doctor or Pharmacist as well. Doctors or Pharmacists may (and I’m guessing here), come up with new uses for current medical inventions or even try to change the current invention into something he or she feels would be important. Proof that alternative medicine is better!

With scores of medical inventions being announced everyday, why is it so many people go for Alternative medicine? It seems most of this natural stuff was discovered ages ago and I guess it was good for back then. But now we’re always finding new ways to treat people who are sick and as I said new medical inventions are announced daily it seems like.

My Aunt is trying to find treatments for her diabetes through natural sources and I just don’t get it. I’d rather trust carefully researched medicine to some plant.

Plus, since the FDA doesn’t regulate this hokus pokus, all the side effects could be really bad. It seems to me that doctors have had years to improve on the medical inventions of the past. So my question–sorry for rambling– is where’s the proof that alternative medicine is better or safer than western medicine?

Western medicine normally treats symptoms of a disease. As far as I know, alternative medicine attempts to help to prevent disease from happening and, as a result of restoring the body back to a balanced state, the body can heal itself. I got that from a website, however I do believe it as well.

As for you’re question, where’s the proof that alternative medicine is better or safer than western medicine… why not ask where’s the proof that western medicine is better or safer than alternative? Proof might be something different to me than it would to you.

Here’s another question, since you seem open to the idea. How many people have died from taking chromium supplements? How many people have died from the diseases associated with chromium deficiency? That’s you’re homework.

I absolutely believe that the FDA is one of the most corrupt institutions in the USA. After millions of dollars, the FDA approves a drug as being safe and a year later you see it on TV where some ambulance chasing lawyer is drying to drum up business for a new class action suit against the company because of the “side effects.” And who is sued? Well, not the FDA-the ones that approved it. Nope, it’s the drug company. The FDA takes no responsibility for okaying something man made, synthetic, and dangerous to be used. What a racket and meanwhile a nice cushy job for the attorneys. Could the ring be more obvious?

Here’s a good example and it’s about Diabetes. Way back in 2007 about 80K people died from the FDA Approved drug Avandia. But they kept approving it.  And now, just take a look at all the Avandia class action lawsuits. Job security.Abby

Medical Inventions From Around The Web.

I Find ‘Em and Bring Them To You
Medical Chair: I don’t even know how it works, but it sure looks cool. This medical chair is said to be able to save a patient both time and money by diagnosing what ails anyone who sits on it.

Implantable Chip: Oh sure, you may be able to unlock your car by waving your “implant” over it. You might even be able to pay by pointing your finger to the computer that might have replaced the cashier at the grocery store. But, what are we trading in return for this nifty little device?

Non Invasive Blood and Glucose testing for diabetics. This is something I feel is so important to bring to the marketplace. I don’t have diabetes but I know people who have. I for one can’t imagine pricking my fingers every day much less giving myself a shot! Will be a really welcome medical inventions.

Respia(TM) is a low sodium solution for airway care designed to mimic the properties of normal protective respiratory secretions. This medical inventions used to help premature babies avoid pneumonia.

I’ll bet tons of people will get on board with this anti-migraine patch.
