Simple inventions, in many cases, come to us by accident. Many inventors come up with some really simple inventions when they’re trying to come up with something else. Such as coke. Yep, the stuff you drink in a bottle. A pharmacist, John Pemberton was trying to develop invention ideas for pain and instead came up with coke. The story is much longer and the reason behind creating the elixir is interesting, however it just goes to show us that all of our ideas matter greatly.
Simple inventions to help with horse upkeep
I’m having problems with a school project. Our assignment was to come up with simple inventions to help specific groups of people. I was given the group of stable hand and stall cleaner. Gross. Anyway, I’ve never even seen a horse up close and have no idea what to do. I’ve read a lot about stable cleaning and such but I just can’t find any problems associated with cleaning.
I’m with you Toby. I don’t know much about stall maintenance or mucking. The problems I can see that may be worthy of finding a simple invention for might be: the time it takes since twice a day is optimum, the smell, and what to do with the muck. I’m sure there are many other things, however I wouldn’t begin to know what they may be. But I do have an idea for you.

If it were me looking for invention ideas, I’d call some horse stables in your area. In fact, I’d call a lot of them. I’d tell the person who answers the phone about the school assignment and ask if you could watch a stall being cleaned or mucked. When you’re there watching, talk with the people who are doing the mucking, ask them what are the best and worst things about the job. Go to as many places as you can and talk to as many people as you can and you’ll come up with the best simple inventions ever. Keep your interviews and turn them in as documentation for your simple inventions and I’ll just bet your grade will be a glowing A. — Abby ♥
Simple inventions that were accidents?
Some good ones! Like if someone was trying to invent something but in the process came up with one or two other simple inventions instead. Does that make any sense?
This is a good question. There are tons of websites online that carry a slew of simple inventions that were accidents. For instance the chocolate chip cookie, Teflon, and Kleenex were all accidents. I could go on and name a ton but you might find some other really interesting ones if you simply search: Accidental Inventions— Abby ♥
